cultographies
The CULTOGRAPHIES series is dedicated to the weird and wonderful world of cult cinema. This new series provides a comprehensive introduction to those films that have attained the coveted status of a cult classic, focusing on their particular appeal, the ways in which they have been conceived, constructed and received, and their place in the broader cultural landscape.
The first three titles, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Donnie Darko and This Is Spinal Tap, published in October 2007, have already received great acclaim: ‘Wallflower’s pocket-proportioned dissections of cult flicks prove that size isn’t important. Favouring keen concision over bloated verbosity, these ‘Cultographies’ weave vigour into punchy brevity ... The trio dish out a toned triple-punch of erudite passion, scrupulous study, theoretical heft and crap-cutting acuity.’Kevin Harley, Total Film
Later this year and beyond will see titles on Bad Taste, Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story, Touch of Evil, The Evil Dead, Blade Runner, Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia, El Topo, Frankenstein, Stranger Than Paradise, Faster Pussycat, Kill! Kill!, Quadrophenia, Flaming Creatures and many many more...
